What is the Property Services Regulatory Authority?

The Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA) was set up in 2011 under the Property Services (Regulatory) Act 2011. The purpose of the authority is to supervise and monitor Property Services Providers in Ireland through the licensing of all professionals and the regulation and maintenance of standards in the delivery of their service. 
The Property Services Regulatory Authority executes its functions through licensing professionals, conducting the investigation of a complaint, maintaining a system of redress for consumers of the service, namely the Compensation Fund, and the enforcement of certain minimum standards prescribed by the 2011 Act. 

As a Property Service Provider, you can obtain a license under one or all of the four categories: A, B, C and D.

A – The auction of property other than land

B – The purchase or sale (by auction or private treaty) of land (including buildings)

C – The letting of land

D – Property management services

The PSRA oversees the Property Price Register, the Commercial Lease Register and the Register of Licensees also.
