What are my rights as a member of an OMC in a residential apartment block or estate?

OMC’s are usually a corporate body that looks after shared services, such as cleaning, lighting, landscaping, waste management and insurance. They are governed by The MUD act 2011 and The Companies Act 2014, making company members are entitled to the following

  • Information that is current regarding the business’s operations and finances
  • Fair warning of the company’s annual meeting
  • The ability to vote and participate in annual general meetings.

Company members are also entitled to examine and have copies of:

  • Periodic financial statements
  • The company’s memorandum and articles of association.
  • Various registers held by the company
